Getting across the harbour mouth
On the south-west point of the peninsula, the Sandbanks chain ferry runs across the inlet of Poole Harbour to Shell Bay, with road access to Studland, Swanage and the Purbecks. Timetables, fares and service interruptions should be checked with the ferry operator before travel — historical site copy did not include live schedules.
